Happy Spring! The Guilderland Parks & Recreation Department is excited to offer exceptional programming that promotes fun, fitness and a wide variety of activities designed to enrich your child’s summer experience. Although it may be a little chilly, we are excited about summer. Registration for all of our Town Summer Programs will open on Friday, March 30th!! Sign up for your favorite camps and try some of our new ones as well! Check out our Early Spring camp offerings (Spring Break Fun-N-Games, Guilder'Run Youth Track and Field) in addition to everything for this summer!
Tawasentha 1/2 Day Camp is back for another great summer! The program is half day starting Monday, June 25th and is offered to children entering Kindergarten through 8th grade. There will be three sessions of camp, all of which are two weeks long, and the day camp will end on Friday, August 3rd. Camp will be from 8:15am to 11:45am – the summer camp area is located at the Large Pavilion in Tawasentha Park (Camper drop off & check in). The Town provides busing within the Town of Guilderland for the six-week day camp (and for a.m. sports & enrichment camps) from June 25th - August 3rd.
BUS TRANSPORTATION FOR 2018. Thank you for your patience as we continue to negotiate our busing procedure for this summer with the Guilderland School District. As soon as the transportation is set for the summer, it will be posted on this website.
Besides the Tawasentha 1/2 Day Camp program, residents will have over 45 sports camps and 50 enrichment camps from which to choose. The pool at Tawasentha Park will once again offer the Red Cross Learn-to-Swim Program taught by certified lifeguards. Keep an eye out for our 2018 Summer Brochure, which will be sent via backpack mail and available at the Parks & Rec Office, Town Hall, and local libraries, after the school spring break.
PLEASE NOTE THAT ALL SPORTS AND ENRICHMENT CAMPS AND THE TAWASENTHA 1/2 DAY CAMP WILL BE CLOSED ON WEDNESDAY, JULY 4th, 2018.
Families can enjoy our pocket parks, GPAC concert series on Thursday nights at 7:30pm, National Night Out (August 7, 2018), golf at Western Turnpike Golf Course and the use of over 5 miles of trails at Tawasentha Park, the Winter Recreation Area (adjacent to the park) and the Community Gardens. We hope you enjoy the summer of 2018!
